Matt Morgan is a musician, composer, and producer from Greenville, SC.
Matt grew up in a musical home with a multi-instrumentalist father who was a songwriter for a Nashville music publishing company. Right out of school, Matt was a live sound Engineer for such artist as, Flat Duo Jets, Hootie And The Blowfish, Michelle Malone, Southern Culture on the Skids, Steve Morris, The Root Doctors, and Uncle Mingo Matt began touring the country as a vocalist and guitar player with a variety of bands including award-winning Seconds Flat and The Lackies. He had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such artist as Christian Bush (Sugarland), Yonrico Scott (Grammy Winner), The Old 97’s, Shawn Mullins, Sara Evans, and The Marshall Tucker Band.
After seeing the States, Matt teamed up with Drama Desk recipient, Marc Gwinn to do sound-design for films and theatre in New York. Matt’s sound-design credits included such productions as Chekhov’s “Three Sisters”, and “On the Verge.”
Matt returned home to Greenville, SC to open his own commercial recording studio, producing bands and musicians, and performing on guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, piano, dobro, Ukulele, harmonica, drums, auxiliary percussion and vocals to the artists of many genres recording at Sit-N-Spin. Here is where he produces or engineers albums with Damn Louise, Delaluna, Edwin McCain, Snarky Puppy, Travis Smith, Yonrico Scott, DMX, Derek Trucks, Jacob Johnson, Whitney Walters, Charles Hedgepath, and many others.
He is currently Owner of Sit-N-Spin Recording Studios, and owner of Charter Oak Media, a media company that specializes in video. Matt also is Music Editor of Fete Magazine, producing monthly videos that feature live performances of local/regional Acts. He also films and edits a weekly internet show called “Fete TV,” which brings weekly updates on happenings in Greenville, SC’s art, theater and music communities.
